The Pleiades, M45
25,00€ – 2.500,00€ (IVA tax inc.)
Integrated The Seven Sisters, or The Pleiades, is one of those celestial objects that most of the people can recognize in the autumn and winter northern night sky. This group of stars is the most prominent of an open cluster also called M45.
This cluster is one of the nearest from us, around 400 light years away. This open cluster is surrounded by huge amounts of dust that form a reflection nebula. It is very young, and the first stars started to born around 100 million years ago. It’s very hot and most of the stars are B-type, one of the hottest stars known.
The cluster can be easily identified in the Taurus constellation.
This final color image is a LRGB composite. Because of its reflection nebula, a good way to catch all the detail is to use broad band filters during the darkest nights of the month.
